Our ecological footprint
What stands out the most is the rubbish on the beach, plastic, glass, packaging, aluminum...
Some even brought, for example, from Spain, by rivers.
A proof of this is the package that was found on this same beach, whose expiration date had already expired decades ago.
Did you know
Coca-Cola produces 88 trillion plastic bottles per year, 167,000 bottles per minute, and these stacked are enough to go to the moon and back 31 times!
The sand on the beaches is decreasing due to the creation of dams that retain the sand, in addition to modifying the river.
The amount of secondary dunes on the beach (the ones that appear after the ones closer to the water) is decreasing, especially in the north of Portugal, people build and walk over them which ends up destroying these ecosystems.
